Psychotherapy Services Guernsey is a trading name of PPRC Ltd, registered in Guernsey on March 24, 2009, by Dr Carmel Proctor. PPRC Ltd is registered with The Office of the Data Protection Authority (registration number: DPA6236).

Dr Carmel Proctor trades under the name Psychotherapy Services Guernsey. Dr Proctor is a self-employed Counselling Psychologist, Chartered Psychologist, and Psychotherapist.

What we do

Psychotherapy Services Guernsey offers psychotherapy to adults, from multiple therapeutic approaches including Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and relational approaches. Psychotherapy (often referred to as talking therapy) is offered to people experiencing a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression and trauma.

The data that we collect about you

Professional records collected at the time of your appointment and follow-up notes

We only hold data that is necessary, including personal data such as client details (telephone numbers, addresses, names, and gender identity). We also make brief notes during our therapy sessions to guide interventions.

Your data is collected and stored primarily through secure cloud-based practice management software (Bacpac and Write Upp). We may also keep notes in paper form, which will be stored in a secure and locked cabinet.

Disclosures of your personal data

We may share your personal data with parties as below, as necessary:

  • IT providers who act as data processors providing IT services.
  • Professional advisors acting as data processors or joint controllers, such as health care professionals, lawyers or insurers who are providing accounting, legal or consultancy services.
  • Healthcare professionals or other professionals such as GPs, the Police, Social Services, where there is risk of harm to self or others, or safeguarding issues that must be disclosed.
